Every Mardi Gras morning, before the sun rises and the parades begin, I step into a completely dark room with nothing but my camera and a handful of light painting tools. These portraits are created without Photoshop—just long exposure photography and the spontaneous dance of light.
This series is my way of honoring the artistry, effort, and spirit that goes into Mardi Gras costuming. As each person enters the darkened space, I use light to trace the energy they bring, allowing their spirit to interact and play with the light. The result is a collaboration between presence, movement, and imagination—fleeting moments captured in stillness.
No edits. No tricks. Just light, darkness, and the magic that lives in between.
If nature had a way of communicating with us, I think the water is one of its strongest conduits. This is an attempt at exploring a translation, a means to a deeper understanding of what mother nature is trying to tell us. Specially in these recent years with so much injury caused to our ecosystem.
Lets all reflect, and let the water speak.
These are images I've taken of artists through out the years. Capturing the essence of the moment, in its purest and raw form.
